Kela's 1st Girl's Camp

19 July 2011 Well, it's official. My little angel is getting her initiation into Young Women. Atleast that's the way I look at it. I believe you haven't really experienced Young Women until you've gone to camp, and now my baby doll has. I took her up to Camp Stimpson on Mt. Charleston for a day to meet some of the others from our stake and enjoy some fellowship. I plan to take her again later in the week to take part in some other activities. I just love that she's fitting right it.

As a matter of fact, she made herself welcome in some of the girl's tents. They were gracious to invite her to join them. She was a little reluctant, but then finally decided it would be cool.

This is a group picture of all of the first year girls.

This is a group pic of all of the girls (me and Kela are at the bottom where the red arrow is pointing). Right when the picture was taken, Kela ducked her head...urgh!

The YCLs (youth camp leaders) led the rest of the girls in some great songs.

Kela enjoyed that tremendously...dancing, clapping, and laughing the whole time...so cute!

Kela enjoyed nature a bit too.

She had a great time (although her attention span was limited).

She even got to ride in the camp's go cart tractor to help her to the top of the mountain. All of the other girls were jealous and wished they could hitch a ride to the top too...but oh no...only Kela got special treatment. ;) You go girl! Hahahaha!! BUT. She was scared! LOL! I had to coax her on and ride with her. I guess she thought it was a little freaky.

The theme for this year's camp: Steady the Course (hence, the sea blue shirts and anchors). The girls are learning to rely on the Lord to help them through the storms of life and to allow Him to help captain them through it all. Can't wait to see what's next...

That's SO awesome. I'm so happy for her!

I found Isabel in the big picture and she is leaning forward with a really weird look on her face, LOL.

How neat! I'm glad that she got to go experience the wonderfulness of girls camp. Looks like she got the best of camp without having to hike or sleep outside!
