Gabriel is officially a Life Scout. He's actually had his stuff passed off for awhile, but his pack just had a Court of Honor to give him his patch recently. After he goes to Scout Camp in a couple of weeks, he will have all of his requirements for Eagle, except for his project. I'm hoping he will pin that on before his 16th birthday. We'll see... We love Br. Howard.
I never deserve the mother's pin. I do absolutely nothing for my kids when it comes to scouts, except allow them to go to events and pack food for their campouts. Other than that, they are on their own. Even when Frankie did his Eagle project, I took the backseat and wasn't involved. He carried it out with his leaders, although I showed up and participated, of course. I just remember my brother (when he was Scout Master) complaining about mothers doing too much and boys not deserving their awards, so I didn't want to be that mom. I think I've become the polar opposite, though. :) When Gabriel gets his Eagle, it will be WELL deserved! :) This mother's pin just means I'm proud!!!!

Way to go. I completely understand. Preston's dad has always been involved in scouts and I've heard lots about scout masters and parents that have done more than the actual kids. Its good to hear of some scouts actual doing the work =) Way to go Gabriel!
