Championship: Spartans 38 -- Chargers 12

21 Nov 09
Gabriel had an amazing season in football this year. His team beat their opponents 287-25!!! We missed Gabriel's playoff game (because of work schedules), and apparently he had his best hit with none of his family there to see him. Everyone said it was awesome. Dang!!! They played the Crusaders and beat them 35-7.
Well, we did make it to his championship game. Thank goodness. As usual, Gabriel did very well. For example, the first play of the game, he sent a kid out because he injured him, knocking him so hard. Then, the second play he knocked someone's helmet off. Thereafter, the other team tried to keep from coming to his side, or if they did, they double and triple teamed him. He still made plays, though. Gabriel invited the Nihapali's to come see him. Isn't little Kainoa so cute????
We were so glad they showed up to watch.
Shorty being the ex-offensive tackle for Virginia Tech and all!!!! ;)
Noah loved spending time with Kainoa, feeding him all sorts of snacks. LOL!
Frankie and Brandon showed their support for their little brother.
Doesn't Frankie look like he's enjoying himself?
He tried to entertain Kela.
She just thought he was crazy!
Brandon got so cold that he moved up in the stands to try to get in the sunlight.
(He's spitting sunflower seeds.)
Gabriel ended up injuring his leg.
However, he sat out just a couple plays...as soon as he saw the Chargers score a touchdown by coming to his side, he JUMPED UP and ran to the coach and told him to put him in!!!! He couldn't stand thinking his absence hurt his team! =)
After the game, Gabriel said his head was killing him! He was in no mood for picures.
While his teammates were celebrating their victory, Gabriel was just tolerating the photo. Awww!
I did get him to smile with the trophy, though. I told him he better smile for me, because these were priceless memories... a CHAMPIONSHIP trophy and medal!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!
We're so proud of Gabriel for putting his whole heart and soul into his games, and really making a difference!
