Gabriel had his first football game.
He plays for the Spartans (who have a running Championship record in his division). Gabriel kind of luckily got placed on this team. You see, over the summer I was doing job shadowing as a Dental Hygienist, and happened to get talking to one of the patients. He told me that he was coaching this great team, and would love to meet my boy and have him try out. (I had told him of our horrible experience last year, with a different league, with untalented coaches and players.) Therefore, Gabriel went out, and as fate would have it, they loved him and put him on the team. Yay!!! As a matter of fact, he is one of the best that they have. He is rotating between middle line backer and outside linebacker.

Dad was extremely happy that the season was starting!
Gabriel is NUMBER 7.
This is him warming up.
He is the team captain, so he got to do the talking for his guys.

(Look at those mountains.)
Getting some words from one of his coaches.
Gabriel is also the defense's captain, so he gets all of the plays called to him from the coach off of the sidelines...
...and then huddles with his team and tells them what to do.
Notice he is tackling low like his Dad always taught him. ;)
Also, this is the ONLY tackle Gabriel was able to make, because the team that we played was so ill matched against us that the lineman were making the plays before the linebackers could do anything. Sad, I know. The Wolverines couldn't push past our line. It was a brutal beat down from us.
Notice the score. Spartans 42--Wolverines 0
The game got called before they could even finish.
Frankie showing his support.
You go, boy! Keep 'em straight!
Half time picture!
Half time fun!
Noah, don't let him tackle you!
Get him, Noah, get him!!!

I LOVE seeing those mountains in the back ground! We gotta come visit!
Good Job Gabriel! I can tell Frankie is Proud of him!
I didn't know Gabriel went to Cimarron-Memorial! That's where I went to high school (a long time ago!). Football (well, sports in general) is great. Brigg and I are hoping Will can play and like sports. I think kids who play sports can stay out of trouble better and build friendships better, etc. Sports are so important!
That's awesome that he tried out and not only did he make the team but he's the captain!
I was the same way as Kela when I was a kid. The best part of going to a siblings ball game was getting to get a treat from the snack bar! =)
