Okay, so here's the deal: Our house was TPed last night. We found the evidence this morning. And, honestly, I was a little disappointed! Literally, we got one little toilet stream across my flowers, a foot long stream across my desert plant, and a tiny handful in my planter pot. What the....?! There were some goodies on my door step with a note written on two joker cards from a regular card deck. This is how the note read:
Here is a summer present from us to you.
We hope you will enjoy it too.
Keep the fish or give it away.
Whatever you do, I hope it made your day.
We've given you some little presents
And strung our love across the yard.
So have a great summer and we'll see you soon.
So have a great summer and we'll see you soon.
Love,
your Jokers
Okay, first off, I LOVE having my house TPed. I was raised to enjoy little jokes and take them as compliments and gestures of love. And, I guess that's why I'm a little disappointed...my house just got a "drizzle" of affection. Even in the note the "jokers" said they "strung our love across the yard." Since there was just a little TP, does that mean we are only loved a little? Or, do people not know us well enough to feel free to go all out? As long as I can reach it (to get it down), I don't care. Seriously, it doesn't rain in the desert. It's not like the culprit would be afraid of rain demolishing the goods. Maybe, it's because they don't know how we do it in the south. Ask Lauralan Campbell what her house looked like after we got done with it. We used over 50 rolls on her house and yard! (Not to mention it was soaked with dew the next morning.) My jokers didn't even get CLOSE to using a single roll.
This reminds me of a time when I was teaching seminary. My students came over and were TPing my house. I caught them in the act. We were outside laughing really hard about it and just having a good time. But, to my amazement, after I had walked back in the house, I realized one of them had snuck away while I was talking outside and they TPed the INSIDE as well. I LOVED it! I couldn't believe they were so quick on their feet and so clever to do that. I was laughing so hard! I had the BEST time cleaning it up. Every sheet I pulled away, I felt a warm assurance of the love we shared together.
To my jokers (if you're out there):
Thank you for my love note. I really do apprectiate your kindness in thinking of our family. We know by your efforts that we are thought of with affection. But, please, if you're feeling the urge to frost our yard, don't hesitate to go all out. Just don't get it in the top of my trees or on my roof. I'd hate for the HOA to fine me $100 a week if I can't remove it. :0)
Whoever, you may be...We LOVE you too!!! Vegas is GREAT!!!
Notice in the pic there was dial soap, charmin toilet tissue, play dough, sour warhead spray, colgate toothpaste...am I missing something? It's funny because before my husband realized it was part of some message, he told the kids each article represented something about each of them: soap (Gabriel needs to shower more), toothpaste (Kela needs to brush more), toilet paper (Frankie needs to wipe better), play dough (Noah plays too wildly), and warhead (Brandon needs to control himself). Aren't we like the best parents? ... I swear, we torment our kids all the time! Isn't this why Brandon didn't get embarrased about his sacrament prayer mess up? We are soooo bad!
Mary, as a side note to your comment, these pics are for you. They are of our night of fun with Ethen. I didn't post all the people involved. (Remember, the husbands and kids too!) I just got the sisters leaving their mark. We had such a good time, didn't we?!

You crack me up! Only you would call your "Jokers" out and tell them to get you better next time. Maybe you should take me TPing and show me how they do it in the south.
I love a good joke!
What the heck! You should go TP someone & show them how to REALLY do it. If you're not using the entire economy sized package of toilette paper, then it's not a "real" TP! :-)
This reminds me when we TPed Ethen's house & was hiding in the car down the street to see his reaction....ahh fond memories! LOL
Love ya!
Yeah, we had a whole spy system going on. Cell phone lookouts and everything. We even used shaving cream to write stalker notes in his yard. Serves him right for skipping out on our family function!
OMG!!! I was laughing the whole time reading this post. It does bring back lots of memories. Those people really are ammatures. Your family definitely needs to show some Vegas people wuz up.
I had so much fun doing that to Ethen & Rebekah. Who has the video of it? Is it you or Mary? Whoever has it they need to post it, so I can see the crime in action again.
Y'all are too funny. I think it's hysterical that you would call the jokers out on a poorly done job....you better watch your house girl, I have a feeling they'll be back!
Ok, I agree Marina -- pitiful job on the TP!!!! I've had way better than that! I caught some boys toilet papering my house when I was a freshman in high school. They got so scared when my dad came out on the porch and yelled "What do you think you're doing???", that they threw tons of new rolls of TP in my yard and jumped in the car and drove off. My dad was cracking up! It was so funny. I think he really scared them!! hehe!! :)
I must agree, not the best job I've seen. I'm a little disapointed since I know who your Jokers are. I'd have expected a little more. Just know that if rolls used really did account for the amount of love everyone has for your family, you wouldn't have even been able to see your house through all the TP!
Gosh, Marina, you are sooooo selfish!!!! Don't you know we're in a recession!!! :-) Your "Jokers" were using the toilette paper to wipe their butts, not TP your house! Sometimes, all you can think about is yourself! LOL
Just because Frankie doesn't wipe very well, doesn't mean others lack good hygiene.... he he he
That night we did Ethen's house, was sooooo FUN! I remember we went and got hats & Wesley was wearing a mask. Too funny! I think I'm the one with the actually video, but who knows where it is now...
Great pictures!
