Hubby's Knee

My husband injured his knee a while ago playing basketball. He came down on it pretty hard, and knew right away that he had damaged it pretty bad. He said he had never experienced such terrible pain, and the noise he heard echoed the gym (like a pop), which made him suspect bad news. He saw the orthopedic right away, who diagnosed him with a sprain. Consequently, he has walked around on it with nothing to help for quite some time. However, because of the pain that has lingered, and the unstable movements that he has been feeling, my husband knew that there was more to it than a sprain. He finally got the doctor to schedule him an MRI. He went today. The results: a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. He definitely has to have surgery. I think he's shooting for December.
(My husband claims this is why he lost to me in ladderball...yeah, right..nice try!)

Yikes but I know what he's going through, granted I didn't tear any ligaments but that not to say it hasn't been easy. Here's to a speedy postsurgery recovery. P.S. I'm having my surgery in December too. You'll have to let us know when it is so that we can pray for him.

Marina, My oldest, Sonny, had the EXACT same thing happen to him while playing basketball. It happened when he jumped up to throw the ball and when he came down excruciating pain and a loud pop! It required surgery to replace the ACL and meniscus and they used a cadaver tissue rather than a transplanted one from another area on him. To this day, 8 years later, still isn't perfect and he can hear clicks and clacks. At least he can walk! Good luck to Frankie. (Cindy B)

Didn't Frankie do that here in SC? If so, that's a long time to be in pain. Hope he feels better.

HOW has he been able to walk?!? That is crazy! And it sounds uber-painful.

So sorry to hear that! Why does he have to wait so long for surgery?
