Do you believe in angels?

Jeffrey R. Holland is my absolute favorite apostle. Here is an excerpt from his last conference address...

"In the course of life all of us spend time in 'dark and dreary' places, wilderness, circumstances of sorrow or fear or discouragement...But I testify that angels are still sent to help us, even as they were sent to help Adam and Eve, to help the prophets, and indeed to help the Savior of the world Himself...I ask everyone within the sound of my voice to take heart, be filled with faith, and remember the Lord has said He 'would fight [our] battles'...The latter days are not a time to fear and tremble. They are a time to be believing and remember our covenants...when we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil...Indeed heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in the kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure that angelic is the only word that comes to mind...I testify of angels, both the heavenly and the mortal kind. In doing so I am testifying that God never leaves us alone, never leaves us unaided in the challenges that we face. '[N]or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth shall stand, [or woman or child] upon the face thereof to be saved.'...And always there are those angels who come and go all around us, seen and unseen, known and unknown, mortal and immortal...'I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left,...my Spirit shall be in your [heart], and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.' In the process of praying for those angels to attend us, may we all try to be a little more angelic ourselves--with a kind word, a strong arm, a declaration of faith and 'the covenant wherewith [we] have covenanted.' Perhaps then we can be emissaries sent from God..."

I add my testimony to Holland's. I, too, know we are aided by angels and God never leaves us to walk our earthly sojourn alone. For this, I am eternally grateful. Here's a shout out to all the angels who have touched my life. You know who you are, for there are many (one even brushed me today). ;) I'm encouraged now to be an angel for someone else. What about you?

You do not know me...I am Libbi Sheridan's sister, Jean and she shared your blog address with me. I loved what you wrote about Elder Holland's message on angels. I have felt them often in my life but especially this last year and a half since losing our son, Noah. We have had many blessings sent to us that reaffirms our faith in the plan of salvation and have come to appreciate the beautiful, simple acts of random kindnesses that come from many angelic gestures. Thanks for your post. I needed to read it today as this time of year has become a tough time for me even though it is my favorite. I appreciate the strength of your testimony I feel thru your writing.

Jean, I can not imagine what you have went through with your loss. It's actually something I don't WANT to imagine. I feel for you and your family and am glad that you have been placed in the path of many angels to ease your pain. I'm so thankful for God's gentle hand. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I know you, yourself, ARE an angel too. Thank you.

I do love this talk. Incidentally it's the only one that I heard during the Saturday session.
