Noah is a skinhead!

A few days ago, Noah went to the bathroom and cut a big chunk of hair right above his forehead. I found the scissors and hair particles in the sink and confronted him. I asked matter-of-factly, "Did you cut your hair?!" He responded sheepishly, "No." Shocked at his response, I looked him square in the eye and asked again with the evidence staring me straight in the face, "Noah! DID you cut your hair?" Hesitantly he answered, "No." The third time I warned him, "Noah, you better not lie to me. I don't like when you lie and if you lie I'm going to spank you. Now, tell me the truth. Did you cut your hair?" He blurted out fast, "NO! I didn't cut my hair." At this cue I took him to the sink, showed him the evidence, summoned him to look in the mirror, and proclaimed, "Noah, you DID cut your hair. And, now, because you felt you had to lie about it, you're going to get a spanking. I told you not to lie to me and I wouldn't be spanking you if you told me the truth. It's not good to lie. I'm not mad that you CUT your hair. I'm disappointed that you LIED to me." He poked out his quivering lips, "I shouldn't lie?" And, me, hating to have to give him this lesson said, "No. You shouldn't. Now let's get your spanking." (He got three licks.)

Now, Brandon, being the good brother that he is, took Noah and shaved him. When Noah peered around the corner, I was shocked! My baby is now a little skinhead! I'm just hoping that in the next couple of weeks before school starts it will grow.

Well, at least it is just hair and it will grow back. I remember when Mark was just a tiny thing and took scissors to his beautiful blonde curls. We thought Claudina might have to be commited...LOL!

You're such a good mom! I like how you explained things to Noah. I'm sure that's hard to have them lie to you but you handled it well. I believe he will remember this and learn from it.

Maybe the other kids in school will know not to push him around; it could be his way of becoming'bully-proof'.

Thank you so much for leaving your sweet comment. It really made my day. Know that you are an awesome mother too, and I think you are a wonderful example, not only to your kids, but to all the other moms you know.

P.S. My calling is Activity Days Leader for the 8 and 9-year-old girls.

That's reason #33678 that you need to move back to SC.....Noah would fit right in down here! Ha!

It actually looks cute but I know it may make it hard for him at school. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it grows back quickly! Until then, stay strong, he'll figure out that lying won't get him far.

Oh the things I have to look forward to in a few years! I'm sure I'll be harassing you for advice!

Your little baby's all grown up! He looks so much like the older boys now! I'll bet he's lovin' that in Vegas! He'll be fine, kids in K don't care what kids look like right?!

Gillian does the same thing with lying. She will always deny, deny, deny and then finally get confronted where she's caught and admit to it. Maybe it is their age.

It actually looks a lot better than what I was picturing it was going to be when you called me on the phone. I thought he would look completely bald with how blond his hair is, but you can still see his hair. I actually love it...or maybe it is just the expression on his face.

He is so full of himself

Hey, KateLynn! I'm glad you're helping your mom clean, even though it is gross. You're such a great helper. I know your mom is happy and proud. Are you excited about school? I know your teacher is going to LOVE you! You are the sweetest person there is. I'll be thinking of you. I don't know when I'll be able to visit, but I DEFINITELY want to see you and your family. I miss y'all SO much. We'll try to plan a way to get together. Until then, know that I love you.
