Some Relief Society sisters got together to enjoy the stageplay and musical, Aida. It was held at Spring Mountain Ranch, which is about a 45 minute drive up into the foothills of a mountain. There is an outdoor theatre under the stars, set beautifully under the heavens. Fortunately, we had a great night. The weather was breezy and cool. We brought dinner, ate, and conversed. It became a great bonding night.

The lead actor of Aida is a member of our stake. He has an AMAZING voice! Also, there were many other LDS members who performed and had part in contributing to the play.
The story of Aida is set in Egypt amongst war. The Captain of the Egyptian army takes hostages and makes Aida, an unknown Princess to the waring country, a slave handmaiden to the Pharaoh's daughter, who the captain is engaged to marry. However, he falls in love with Aida and is torn between honoring his father's dreams for him as the next Pharaoh or giving up his prestige for an enslaved girl. Aida struggles with her love for the Captain or trying to secretly free her people.
It was a great romantic story between love and duty. The music was phenomenal! I wish they sold a CD for it.

Me (1st Couns.) and Amy, our RS President.

Suzanne (2nd Couns.) and Melissa

Susan, Judy, and Kristen.

Amy and Laurie

This is the group who went, minus a few (me, Susan, and Adrianne).
We originally had a bigger commitment of people to go, but then our numbers started trickling last minute. Those who didn't come really missed out.

Wow! When I read Elton John, I was scared. But, it sounds good.
Angel, don't you like the Lion King music? That was done by Elton John and Tim Rice too. I'm telling you the music in Aida was phenomenal, absolutely loved it!
Sounds like lots of fun. And having it outside with good weather sounds even better.
