Father's Day Weekend

I took the three youngens to the park because the older boys went to see the Olympic try-outs for wrestling. (They were excited because they had front row seats and were able to sit behind Rouland Gardner, former Olympic champ, who was announcing for ESPN.) Gabriel was disappointed he couldn't go so I tried to make up for it by taking him to the park. He was appeased.Saturday night we went to a Hawaiian graduation party for a boy in our ward. We ate some great cultural food, listened to a live band, and soaked up some sun. Kuulei Jakubczak had a lei for Frankie that was flown in from Maui, made by her sister, for his accomplishments. I thought that was sweet.

Sunday morning we had a great Father's Day breakfast! Yum!!! My baby felt special because he never gets that!

Frankie sang us some songs on his new guitar. It was a graduation present from me and Dad. (Now he has three of them.) He loves playing! He plays every chance he can get so he enjoyed giving us a little mini concert.

Of course, I had to take pictures of all my little future fathers too:

We also had a huge dinner after church. We grilled out steaks and had shrimp, collards, macaroni, cream corn, salad, fried potatoes, garlic bread, and banana pudding. We definitely overindulged ourselves. The only thing we could do after that was veg out.

In honor of my Father:
I have never seen a more pure example of service than from you. You give unselfishly to others with no thought for yourself. You live a life of compassion for your fellowman and you never judge another. You genuinely care for every soul and you give hope to all around you. You lift every individual and bring smiles to many. You exemplify goodwill and envoke appreciation to those who know you. I am so grateful that I have lived under your wings and have been tutored in relationships by you. Not by your word, but by your example. Thank you for your tireless work. You have always had an enduring attitude and I have reaped great blessings because of it. You have always been here for me and have never hesitated to help in any way that you could. Thank you for loving, caring, shaping, and influencing me. Your impact can not be calculated! You have definitely earned a place on the right hand of God. I love you tremendously and I hope my life will always honor you.

In honor of my Husband:
You are a pillar of perseverance and hard work. It is not in your blood to ever give up or stop trying. I find great comfort in knowing this because I realize that I will always have security with you. You have always shown me great love and have always made me feel special. You tend to have the right words to ease my feelings of inadequacy and sense, quite remarkably, when I need them. You have made me a confident woman because you make me feel sexy by your gestures and compliments. You make me feel like a 10 cow woman. You have shaped me into a stronger individual, for sure. I am definitely a better person because of you. You have a very good heart. You have a very strong ability to discern right and wrong and do not hesitate to jump on the right side, no matter what anybody else thinks. Choosing good is very important to you and that gives me peace and assurance that your leadership in our home is in good hands. You are very sensitive with me and I appreciate your gentleness. I am so glad that you are the father of my children. Thank you for working so hard! Thank you for sacrificing so much! Thank you for being a great example! I love you!!!

The picture of Kela and Gabriel is worth a million dollars, how did you convince her to go on the slide? Brandon is soo handsome, he has Frankies eyes for sure...... All of the children are special as you and their father. Wish I could have been at the breakfast buffet, it looked delish....

Awww! I love a good fathers day post. That breakfast looked awesome and don't think I missed the simple additions that it was served in!

Ok for a Father's Day contribution you are slacking. Out of all those pics only 2 had Frankie in them. Your weren't lacking in words though. You have always been good in expressing your feelings.

BTW, what is up with Pop taking a picture in his "G's"? He isn't suppose to be exposing those.

That dinner sounded awesome. You definitely over did yourself

Pop is sooo cute! Notice Lizzy, he's wearing those in Ethan's b-day pics too.
We love Kela! The other night before Rocco and I shut our eyes, we just sat there talking about her. We miss her so much. Then the conversation ended on us saying at the same time: "Hot Rocco"! We can't wait to see her resurrected b/c we know she'll look just like you!

Angel, Kela still says that. And, yes, I can't wait to see her at resurrection too. It will definitely be an enlightening moment to see her as she really is.

Yes, Kela is wonderful. I keep telling Anthony he better always be nice to her, b/c she is the only one that tells him he his smart. "Smart Anthony" He loves her too.

Angel, what is up with Pop? Crazy man always flaunting the "G's" We really need to get on to him about that

Your family has grown so much. I can't believe the kids are so old. I am sorry about the Vegas thing but I was only there for two days with my friends who flew in and it was sort of crazy so you wouldn't have wanted to get in the middle of that mess. I'll tell you the whole story later. We keep talking about coming and visiting you this summer. Just tell us a good time. I have girls camp the second week of July and then after that we are free anytime. I wish you were going to camp with me again that was fun. I am in charge of the whole stake girls camp and I could use your craftiness. Anyway your family looks great and we can't wait to see y'all.

I cannot believe that you spent that much time on school work and still aren't done. That is crazy! Better you and Robert than I!

Hey Marina and fellow wolf pack! I just learned you guys had a blog! How exciting! Tyson emailed me yours, Mary's, Lizzy's and Angel's blogs. I working on setting up mine too so we can all keep in touch. I miss you all so much and from the looks of things you are all doing well. Give everyone big hugs from me!

Love you,
Christie

Yeah, Christie!!!! Let me know when you set it up. I've been trying to talk Tyson into getting one too. If everyone does it, we'll be able to keep in touch for sure. Tell the family we love and miss them. BTW, Frankie will be flying back the last week of Aug before he goes off to college. Y'all will need to hook up. Andrea said she would come down to see him. And, how's the baby? Is she still wearing her garnet and black? Don't let Matt brainwash her!!!

It may take me longer than usual to set my blog up...I have my hands full! Belle is great, cooing and smiling all the time. She's a very happy and fun baby. Mom and I are already singing the Carolina fight song to her...Go Carolina, Go Carolina...she just smiles. Matt thinks he's taking her to some Clemson games but he will have to buy that outfit and pack her up himself. I'm having nothing to do with that one! I don't see that happening though. He gets overwhelmed just watching her while I cook supper! I'll have to take some pics of her in all her Carolina gear that you all gave us (which I love) and send it to you all.

Oh, I can't wait to see her decked out! And, I can just picture you and your mom singing to her...C-A-R-O-L-I-N-A, GOOOOOOOOO Cocks! I bet she does smile!!! Awww, I hate that I'm missing all that. I saw your blog and the pic that you have up of you and Belle. Y'all both look beautiful!

Hey Marina,

I can't believe how much everyone has grown! We are in Alabama (finally) we lost our house to a tornado back in February but we are rebuilding now. Zack will be 10 in October, Grace just turned 7 and little Joseph will be 2 in August. Do you have e-mail? Well, you have a great looking family and I look forward to hearing from you soon! Monica
